ODD Hack is a 24-page zine about the original tabletop RPG system from 1974, and this is the first issue. Inside you'll find:

  • An alternative interpretation of the prime requisite and score adjustment rules that doesn't incentivize creating one-dimensional characters.
  • An adaptation of Warlock's magic system and low-level spells to OD&D that is still Vancian in flavor, but gives casters a bit more flexibility.
  • Two new classes that replace the original fighter, magic-user, and cleric. Warriors are very much like the classic fighter, with a few tweaks. Wizards are spell casters who must choose between the paths of Law and Chaos.
  • A character sheet and some Knave-inspired quick-start character creation tables that incorporate the new rules and classes in this issue.
  • The first part of The Shunned Abbey, an alchemy-themed dungeon crawl adventure. Part two will appear in ODD Hack #2.
  • Some hand-drawn maps and art.

In addition to the PDF zine, you'll also get a separate character sheet, and VTT-ready maps for part 1 of The Shunned Abbey.
